THE Fifth Guangzhou International Tea Culture Fair opened at Guangzhou International Trade Building exhibition center Tuesday.
During the fair, visitors are invited to try different varieties of teas from different parts of the country free of charge in the 10,000 square-meter exhibition area.
An auction is expected to arouse public interest and media attention. Taijian Tea, a rare black variety produced in 1953 by Hunan Baishaxi Tea Factory, will be auctioned at the fair. The reserve price for 50kg of the tea has been set at 200,000 yuan (US$240,000).
