The first International Cultural Industry Fair, to be held from Nov. 18 through 22, will feature a separate venue for arts and crafts with some exhibits to make their debut in the city.
Located at Chaofan Furniture Square Building in Meiyuan Road, Sungang Logistics Center in Luohu District, the venue occupies an area of 30,000 square meters, covering five floors and assembling arts and crafts from more than 300 exhibitors. The exhibits are both traditional and modern, some of them foreign.
The highlights include sculptures from south Fujian, which combine the splendor of Jingdezhen ceramic with the romantic charm of Fuzhou bodiless lacquer and Beijing cloisonne enamel. Others include natural wooden rafts from Guizhou Province, paintings made of natural flowers and leaves from Sichuan Province, along with wood engravings and works of art made from stone and brick.
Exhibits including Beijing opera masks made of calabash, sandal carvings and glass-relief works of art made of glass are also on display. "It might take a day for a visitor to look around the fair," said Liu Qinyun, one of the official organizers.
