Doctors at Shekou People's Hospital held a birthday party for a Philippine patient Wednesday.
The Filipino, known as Delima, was being treated for scalding, the Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported.
Delima, 46, a crew member aboard a Philippine ship, was seriously scalded by steam Aug. 22 when the ship was in Shenzhen waters.
He was admitted to Shekou People's Hospital with scalding to more than 47 percent of his body. He is expected to be discharged soon.
