The First International Cultural Industry Fair (ICIF), to be held from Nov. 18th through 22nd in Guangdong's Shenzhen Municipality, will hold an exhibition highlighting China's fine arts and antiques.
Occupying more than 4,800 sqm with 150-odd booths at the China Hi-Tech Exhibition Center, the exhibition will showcase a range of Chinese treasures such as jade, chinaware, calligraphy, paintings, jewelry, wooden artifacts, ivory and bamboo carvings. Some on-the-spot tea art demonstrations will also be staged at the fair.
The organizers have planned to inject 1 million yuan (US$120,800) into the exhibition area, aiming to provide exhibitors from home and abroad with an ideal exhibition venue that meets international standards. World-renowned auctioneers will be invited to take the gavel for special antique and fine jade article auctions.
The fine jade articles to be displayed will showcase the cultural importance of jade in China, said the organizers. Many jade article collectors in Shenzhen will have their collections displayed.
In China, jade items are regarded as representations of virtue, fortune and power.
