According to Shenzhen Daily, SHENZHEN resident Qiu Weiping has donated three domain names he registered for the 2011 Universiade to the city's executive board of the Games.
Qiu, chairman of Shenzhen Adolescent Activity Center, registered three names, www.sz2011.org, www.sz2011.net and www.sz2011.com before Shenzhen won the rights to host the summer Universiade.
It was reported that some people had offered 100,000 yuan (US$13,123) for the domain names after Shenzhen won the bid. But Qiu insisted on giving the domain name to the city's sports gala.
Clicking on www.sz2011.org, visitors can access the latest progress of Shenzhen's preparations for the 2011 games. It will officially open to the public after being launched by George E. Killian, president of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) on Sunday (July15).
