Early this month, local Kongfu legend Huang Feihong’s absence in Guangdong Culture Hall of Fame caused hot debates among the public. And the provincial cultural and history research museum yesterday announced to add the legend to the Hall of Fame after collecting local experts’ opinion.
Experts once again explain Huang’s absence, saying Huang, born 150 years ago, did not leave any essays or books on kungfu and most of his stories are only folk legends and had not been recorded in books, while his apprentice Lin Shirong was listed because his two books on fist boxing were passed down through generations.
Huang’s story and pictures will then be added to the “Guangdong Culture Celebrity in History Photo Exhibition”.
