Mandarin's House, a well-known historic site in Macao, is to be reopened soon to the public after a two-year repair, local media reported Tuesday.
The Macao Post Daily quoted Heidi Ho, director of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, as saying that the repair preserved "the original face" of the residence, which is covered in Macao's Historic Center, a world heritage site.
The Cultural Affairs Bureau is to send staff members to the Shanghai Library to collect more data on the historic site, Ho said.
The Mandarin's House, located in the city center, was built in 1881 by Zheng Guanying, a prominent Chinese intellectual.
The compound of the residential complex, covering around 4,000 square meters, is adjacent to Patio do Lilau, one of Macao's oldest Portuguese-style squares, displaying a mixed cultural attraction.
