In the past the China International Gallery Exposition has hosted a large group of South Korean artists, who have displayed their works in Beijing, showing a keen interest in the art market in China.
The activity of these artists coming from the Republic of Korea has not ended, even though this year's fair, held May 2 - 5, has just ended. One of their upcoming events is a solo painting exhibition by Kim Tschang-Yeul, who was invited to the capital by the China National Museum. The exhibition will run from May 18 to June 18, and is presented by Pyo Gallery, one of the best galleries in Seoul.
The cultural exchange has strengthened from both ends as more of the South Korean artists have invited their Chinese counterpart to take part in their annual show - the Seoul International Print, Photo & Edition Works Art Fair, to be held this October in Seoul.
"We hope Chinese and South Korean artists can communicate more through art events held in both countries," said Eum Joong-ku, chairman of the Korea Print Art Promotion Committee, organizer of the art fair in Seoul. He recently attended the expo in Beijing, to represent senior artists like Park Seo-Bo, and said he has made progress in his time here.
