Les Arts Sauts, a French trapeze troupe, will present one of Le French May's highlights in Hong Kong starting from May 4, announced the Hong Kong Leisure and Cultural Services Department on Tuesday (May 5th).

Invited by the department, Les Arts Sauts will stage their extraordinary performance "Ola Kala" with live music, delightful songs and breathtaking contortions in Hong Kong Victoria Park.

The show will be staged in a huge white dome 28 meters high and50 meters wide. Sixteen performers act from 12-meter high crosswise trapeze, turning it into a full-fledged artistic performance.

In addition, live music by five musicians and poetic vocal performance, accompanied with the aerial ballet, makes it a perfect show for the whole family.

Spokesperson of Les Arts Sauts Caroline Gravel said performers were all very skillful but they prefer to show their passion more than their techniques at the performances.

Since the establishment of Les Arts Sauts in 1993, the troupe has staged performances in different countries including Greece, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland.

After giving the last performance in HK on May 15, the troupe will go to their next stop -- Singapore, and then back to Europe, said she.

The troupe has performed almost 1,000 shows in France and abroad. "Ola Kala" is their latest experimentation of flying in the cross trapeze.

The 13th "Le French May 2005" -- French cultural festival -- opened in Hong Kong on May 1 and will end on June 4. The festival will also offer a series of other activities such as paintings andphotography exhibitions.
