OCAT to deliver artistic novelty, innovation
Latest Updated by 2005-01-31 11:34:07

As the Overseas Chinese Town (OCT) Contemporary Art Terminal (OCAT), a modern arts center that opened Jan. 28, Shenzhen arts lovers can enjoy a wide variety of visual art forms in a vanguard fashion.

Covering 3,000 square meters, the center not just includes an exhibition hall but also an international artist workshop and a works warehouse as well as design studios, arts galleries and an arts bookstore. OCAT is expected to become an incubator of Shenzhen's creative artistic ideas. The center features oil painting, decorative art, sculpture and more created by Chinese and foreign artists.

Touches such as performance, music, video and even multimedia are all in the works. Whatever the art form, they all deliver the message of artistic novelty and innovation, as OCAT has a slogan of becoming China's spaceport of contemporary art.

The center will also try to integrate artistic resources worldwide by holding regular international artistic exchanges. Artists from home and abroad can let their artistic creativity run freely in this spaceport, as the center works hard to establish itself as an international art workshop.
