Some 100 tribute items from Beijing's Forbidden City will be on display in the Guangdong Museum starting this Friday (January 28). This exhibition is open to the public for free. In addition, Guangzhou citizens should be aware of the vast number of cultural events that will be held during the Spring Festival. Sichuan Opera, Guangdong Opera, Ballet, puppet drama and Guangdong Music are just a few of the more than 60 performances during the holidays. Those interested can get specific information by contacting the Guangdong Culture Bureau.
In other cultural news, nine ancient tombs were unearthed during a road construction project at a busy commercial street in Zhaoqing city. Those tombs belong to various emperors and the estimated burial dates range from the Han Dynasty to the Southern Dynasty period, from 206 B.C. to 420 A.D
