In the history of Chinese Modern Art, the No Fame Group is the first non-official art group, which was very active during the 1960s to the beginning of the 1980s. The Group was founded without direct influence from the modern western culture and the art of current thought. In those years, the artists of the Group unswervingly pursued the concept of "Pure Art", and has been deviating from the prevailing modern art method of thought for more than 20 years. Until now, the history and activities of the No Fame Group are still unfamiliar to people.
After 30 years, the Circuit Exhibition of the No Fame Group, promoted by Professor Gao Minglu of Pittsburg University, USA and the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute. This Exhibition will give a centralized and all-around introduction of the production and activities of the Group during the Cultural Revolution Period. It will try to restore the early history of Modern Chinese Art and reveal an important aspect of the 1960s to 1970s which was hidden by the political art during the Culture Revolution and neglected by the modern fine art historians.
