YOUNG Beijing opera artists will perform at the China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industry Fair (ICIF) this weekend. The classical "Red-mane Horse" will be performed May 20 and Five Classical Beijing Operas will be staged May 21 at Shenzhen Grand Theater. CCTV, the national broadcaster, will videotape the performances.
"Red-mane Horse," a tale of revenge set in the Tang Dynasty (618-907), will be performed by leading young artists Wang Yan and Ling Ke from Tianjin Beijing Opera Theater. "Five Classical Beijing Operas," including the most classic Beijing opera routines, will be performed by leading young Beijing opera artists. They will appear at the ICIF International Performing Exhibition (Hall 6, Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center) from May 18 through 21 to speak with Beijing opera fans.
