Backed by popular demand, Swiss flutist Peter-Lukas Graf will perform with the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra for the second time in a year.
The program includes Johann Sebastian Bach's "Sonata in E Major," Karl Reinecke's "Sonata Undine Opus 167," Paul Hindemith's "Sonata 1936" and Franz Schubert's "Variations Trockne Blumen."
Born in Zurich in 1929, Graf studied flute with Andre Jaunet, Marcel Moyse and Roger Cortet. He was awarded first prize as flutist and the conductor's diploma after studying with Eugene Bigot at the Conservatoire Nationale de Paris. He received first prize at the International Music Contest in Munich and the Bablock Prize of the H. Cohan International Music Award London.
The period as a principal flutist in Winterthur, Switzerland, and in the Swiss Festival Orchestra Lucerne was succeeded by many years of full time opera and symphonic conducting.
