Xiguan Food Festival kicks off

The 4th Xiguan Food Festival will be staged from 9:30 am to 9 pm on Dec.15 - 21. Traditional Xiguan food, Chinese food and International food will together be showcased in the Chen Clan Academy and Lychee Bay. Parts of the activities in Lychee Bay will last until mid-January next year.60 - 70 exhibition booths just outside the Chen Clan Academy in Xiguan will showcase some of the best and most authentic tastes the city has to offer. Brands have been carefully selected, to ensure the food is of the highest quality and representative of true Xiguan cuisine. But if Xiguan cuisine isn't to your taste, the exhibits will also host both Western and Southeast Asian food stalls.Organizers will provide visitors some 50,000 maps for free to assist them in searching for their favorite foods. Shuttle busses will travel between all venues, priced at 1 yuan per person.Apart from the wide array of delicious foods, visitors can also enjoy a cultural feast, including shows and demonstrations on calligraphy, writing couplets, painting and photography.
