From now until next week, a string of original French movies are screening at Broadway Circuit in Coco Park. The ticket price is 40 yuan. See schedule below:


Directed by Katell Quillevere and starring Sara Forestier and Francois Damiens, "Suzanne" is the story of a family and a love affair told through the journey of a young woman called Suzanne. In January 2014, the film received five nominations at the 39th Cesar Awards.

Time: 7 p.m., June 6

'The Past'

An Iranian man deserts his French wife and her two children to return to his homeland. Meanwhile, his wife starts up a new relationship, a reality her husband confronts upon his wife's request for a divorce. "The Past" was nominated for the Palme d'Or award at the 2013 Cannes International Film Festival and won the festival's Prize of the Ecumenical Jury. Berenice Bejo also won the festival's Best Actress Award.

'Playing Dead'

Directed by Jean-Paul Salome and starring Francois Damiens and Geraldine Nakache, "Playing Dead" centers on a has-been actor taking a job playing the victims in a homicide reenactment, where he befriends a civil officer investigating the real-life crime.

Time: 7 p.m., June 4; 8:40 p.m., June 9

'On My Way'

Facing a failed relationship and a struggling restaurant, a woman hits the road for a trip with her grandson. Starring Catherine Deneuve, Nemo Schiffman, Gerard Garouste, "On My Way" is a 2013 French drama film directed by Emmanuelle Bercot. The film premiered in competition at the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival.

Directed by Eric Lavaine and starring Lambert Wilson, "Barbecue" centers on a 50-year-old man who wants to start a new life after being struck by a serious disease.

Time: 8:55 p.m., June 4; 7 p.m., June 5


Directed by Helier Cisterne and starring Zinedine Benchenine, "Vandal" centers on a lonely teen who finds his happiness through making graffiti at night.

Time: 8:45 p.m., June 5; 7 p.m., June 10

'Once Upon a Forest'

Directed by Luc Jacquet, "Once Upon a Forest" is a documentary about the life cycle and growth of forests.

Time: 7 p.m., June 7-8

'Mood Indigo'

A wealthy, inventive bachelor endeavors to find a cure for his lover after she's diagnosed with an unusual illness caused by a flower growing in her lungs. "Mood Indigo" is directed by Michel Gondry and stars Romain Duris and Audrey Tautou.

Time: 7 p.m., June 9; 8:50 p.m., June 12

'The Volcano'

A long-divorced couple travels to a tiny Greek village where their daughter's wedding is taking place. After encountering the volcano, the two have to swallow their pathological hatred for each other and hit the road together.
