High-level music festivals are rare in Guangzhou, and high-quality jazz events are even rarer. Fortunately, a world-class jazz music festival has kicked off in Guangzhou.

The first Times IU Jazz Festival opened on September 20 at the IU Art Center. On the weekends from September 20 to October 4, twelve world-class jazz bands will stage remarkable performances. Big-name players include German legendary musician Stephan Micus, prominent Czech pianist Emil Viklicky, and up-and-coming Greek diva Savina Yannatou and American guitarist Dave Allen.

In addition, representatives of the younger generation of contemporary European jazz musicians, such as France's The Drops, the Netherlands' Wouter Hamel and Franz von Chossy Trio, and Germany's Simin Tander, will also participate in the festival.

The jazz music festival is open to the public free of charge.
