Maria Agresta as Violetta Valery (9/27, 29)

"[…]Maria Agresta, whose full, iridescent soprano dealt handily with the music's demands for bel canto gracefulness as well as for Verdi-like fervor, offering some beautiful pianissimos along the way."

~George Loomis, The New York Times

Maria Agresta made her debut in 2007 in the role of Mimi in Puccini's La Bohème. Her success came after 2011, when she performed I Vespri Siciliani at Teatro Regio in Turin, with great reviews from public and critics. Since then, she has been invited to sing on the most important stages worldwide such as Arena di Verona, La Scala, San Carlo and Berlin Staatsoper. She was highly praised in performances in Norma, La Bohème, Don Giovanni, Il Trovatore, Carmen and has performed with Riccardo Muti, Zubin Mehta and Daniel Oren. Critics also referred that "But everything and everyone paled next to the performance of Maria Agresta".

Lana Kos as Violetta Valery (9/28)

Born in Croatia, Soprano Lana Kos made her debut in 2002 as the Queen of the Night in Mozart's Magic Flute. Her distinct vocal color and three octave range of voice, as well as the ease and sovereignty of performance hinted that the young debutant is going to be a great artist in years to come. This was recognized by the renowned Mstislav Rostropovič who chose her for the role of Natasha Rostova in the new production of opera War and Peace by Sergey Prokofiev in Moscow Bolshoi Theatre. The great career of Lana Kos began in 2011 when she had first appeared in Verona Arena as Violetta Valéry under conduction of Carlo Rizzi. In 2013, April, she debuted as Desdemona in Verdi´s Otello with the NCPA OPERA in BEIJING.
