[SZ] Moscow state orchestra to serenade (Jan 12-13)

The Moscow State Symphony Orchestra will perform at the Shenzhen Poly Theater on Tuesday. Russian conductor Dmitry Orlov will wield the baton and soprano Polyaninova Natalia will be soloist.

The program will include the overture to "Ruslan and Lyudmila", "The Blue Danube", "The Polonaise", "Voices of Spring Waltz", "On the Hunt" ,"Thunder and Lightning", "Emperor Waltz" and some Russian folk songs.

Founded in 1989 by Orlov, the orchestra claims to be the only symphonic institution in the world to have devoted its entire performance agenda to the ethical and musical education of young people.

Every year the orchestra organizes a series of thematic symphony concerts for children and parents, students and larger audiences. Its venues are the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatoire, the Hall of Church Councils in the Cathedral of Christ the Savoir and cultural centers all over Moscow.

The orchestra’s creative store contains more than 100 thematic programs, such as "Fairy Tales, Ballads, Legends", "Pictures at an Exhibition" and "Carnival of the Animals".

The orchestra also performs concerts dedicated to individual Russian composers, along with music cycles composed from the works of Beethoven and Brahms.
