As one of the most successful pianists rising after the 1980's, Song Siheng's standing in international music circles has been established based on the numerous international prizes he has won as well as his glorious performance career. In 1996, the 14-year-old Song Siheng won the first prize at the national piano competition held in Beijing. He was also a prizewinner at the Leeds, Dublin, Paris and Shanghai international competitions. And, most importantly, he won the Grand Prize at the 2004 Long Thibaud Piano Concours, making him the first Chinese to win this prestigious competition.
