"Hypertopia" is a word created from the intersection of two words: "utopia," which is a perfect world and society; and "hyperopia," a technical term describing short-sightedness. These two words are combined and induce a series of questions. Can the dream of a perfect society produce an emotion? May a goal be achieved whatever the means?

Hypertopiawas made for four dancers combined with video images designed by the Italian designer Fabio Massimo Iaquone. However, Hypertopiais more than just another choreography; it's also a work-in-progress you can follow at the www.hypertopia-weblog.com

Hypertopia premiered on March 9, 2006 in the Korzo Theater in The Hague and has toured throughout the Netherlands and abroad ever since. The production was selected for the Dutch Dance Festival and was nominated for the 'Swan' Best Dance Production by the VSCD dance jury.
