Lisa Ono, a Japanese singer born in Brazil, has been devoting herself entirely to Bossa Nova for years. On the basis of its Brazilian origins, she also introduced into Bossa Nova, many other music elements from Hawaii such as elements of the Hula, the French chanson, Italian song elements and so on, giving her music a more global appeal.

More importantly, her music aims at offering audiences mental relaxation and joy. For these reasons Lisa's music is well received not only in Japan but also across the world - - with her concerts in New York and Brazil evoking an enormous response and, she even gained the admiration of Antonio Carlos Jobim, the godfather of the Bossa Nova, with whom Lisa Ono wrote many terrific works.
