This month, Guangzhou Opera House invites Teatro Carlo Felice, the principal opera house of Genova, Italy, to perform Giuseppe Verdi's renowned opera, "Rigoletto." Based on Victor Hugo's play "The King Amuses Himself," the opera tells a tragic story of accidental murder, and revolves around the Duke of Mantua, his hunchbacked court jester Rigoletto and Rigoletto's beautiful daughter, Gilda, who is seduced by the Duke. The opera is considered one of Verdi's best.

Introduction:

"Un Ballo in Mascheral" is one of Giuseppe Verdi's mature works. It premiered in Apollo Teatro in Rome in 1859. With dramatic conflict, superb artistic techniques and gorgeous singing, it has become one of Verdi's most famous operas.

A Midsummer Night's Dream by TNT Theatre Britain
