Overseas Chinese teens discover their ancestral roots in Guangzhou

(A teacher is introducing traditional Chinese culture)

A group of overseas Chinese teenagers were invited to a summer camp in Guangzhou to experience traditional Chinese culture on Wednesday.

The summer camp is sponsored by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council. Students experienced more than 10 classes, covering such things as Chinese language, traditional music, Kong Fu, Lion Dance, Cantonese Opera, and tea art.

The students were even praised for their talented Lion Dance.

The students are expected to visit various historical sites, including the Town God Temple, the Palace of Nanyue Kingdom, and Beijing Road Ancient Avenue. The camp also arranged a daytrip at the Overseas Chinese Museum to present the developments of Guangzhou and improve their sense of Chinese identity.
