Wild tea cooperative boosts profits of farmers in Guangxi

Pubei County in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is home to a great deal of high-quality wild tea. A cooperative in the county has encouraged local farmers to plant tea on abandoned mountains by providing them with seedlings and technical assistance. The cooperative, which now consists of 55 households, owns over 2,000 mu of tea crops, which generate revenue of 4.5 million RMB a year. Thanks to the cooperative, members’ income increases roughly 10 percent annually.
