Wuxi National Hi-Tech District (WND) held a project matchmaking symposia of the Western Returned Scholars Association (WRSA) on May 28 to seek local investment opportunities and forge partnerships, Wuxi Daily reported.
The WRSA brought 21 scientific and technology projects this time. Its resettled returnees will be supported by a subsidy combination of Wuxi's Taihu Lake talents plan, a municipal preferential policy to import talents, and WND’s Leading Talent project. It will also enjoy effective government services.
"Silicon Valley's technological innovation spirit fits well with Wuxi's industrial developments in digital intelligent manufacturing and Internet-of-Things (IOT) services. We have specialized technologies and projects but lack investment and partnership as entrepreneurs," said Kong Dehai, managing director of SVC Angel Fund.
The WRSA group also visited WND’s exhibition center and Wuxi Overseas Students Pioneer Park, as well as representative companies of the National Recruitment Program of 1,000 Global Experts.
The WRSA's entrepreneurship institute of Silicon Valley opened in January this year with several projects under market promotion. It hopes to settle in WND as the city highly values manpower resources and has a good base for modern industry, as well as favorable policies for developing high-tech industries.
Last year, the WRSA brought over 20 projects, six of which are proceeding smoothly and related to the fields of IOT and life science.
