Airshow China 2006 got off to a flying start on Monday afternoon in Zhuhai, a coastal city in south China's Guangdong Province.
Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan announced the opening of the five-day event, which has attracted aircraft giants Airbus and Boeing as well as other major aviation companies.
During the airshow, China will display its L-15 trainer, FTC-2000 trainer, as well as the Eagle-500 aircraft, China's first small private aircraft.
The spacecraft of Shenzhou-6 and the model of Xinnuo-2 satellite will also be exhibited.
"Russian Knights" and British "Golden Dream" will perform aerobatics during the airshow.
This is the 6th airshow of its kind in China which was first initiated in 1996, also in Zhuhai.
