THE Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center, the venue for the sixth Hi-tech Fair, is 2.6 times bigger than the previous Hi-tech Fair center.
Costing three billion yuan (US$ 361 million), the center is now in the limelight.
Sixty meters in height, the center covers an area of 220,000 square meters. It comprises the exhibition center on the ground floor and a convention center above the exhibition center. Two fire-fighting access passages divide the exhibition center into three parts.
Nine halls in the convention and exhibition center can accommodate 6,000 standard booths. There is also a multi-function hall which can accommodate 2,500 people.
Two super screens at the main entrance of the center are reportedly worth more than 10 million yuan. Activities inside the center will be broadcast live on the two screens. Forty-four computer-controlled lightening installation and more than 30,000 bulbs will illuminate the convention and exhibition center.
