Douglasd Tobin and Maggie Hu are looking forward to a new life and new business in Shenzhen.

Tobin, 47, an Australian, could not hide his excitement when talking about Shenzhen.

The couple met in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province, at a telephone matchmaking coffee shop where all the tables have a phone with the number displayed above.

A phone conversation led to a dramatic change in the lives of these two people. ¡°I loved her at first sight,¡± said Tobin.

The couple came to Shenzhen last year and set their sights on a special education project aimed at preparing Chinese students for studying abroad.

¡°We will set up a real Chinese-style community in Perth in Australia with qualified high school and university tutors as well as an Internet telephone network. There they will not feel lonely or left out,¡± said Hu.

Tobin once taught media and developmental psychology in Australian universities, while Hu made a name for herself in Chengdu with her interactive English teaching style.

They are now going to combine their efforts to paint a new picture of overseas education for Chinese students.

¡°Remember what Einstein said. ¡®Knowledge is power but imagination is more important.¡¯ It¡¯s time for Chinese students to become more imaginative,¡± Tobin said.
