Shenzhen will hold a public hearing on fares for Phase I of the Shenzhen Metro on June 29.
But the Metro company has not disclosed preliminary plans for the fares which are to be submitted at the hearing for discussion.
The city is seeking 10 citizens to attend the hearing.
Phase I of the Shenzhen Metro, to open later this year, comprises Line 1 (from Luohu to Window of the World) and Line 4 (from Huanggang Checkpoint to the Children's Palace), a total length of almost 22 kilometers.
Guangzhou's subway fare is 6 yuan (US$0.72) per person while in Beijing, the fare for lines 1, 2 and 3 is 3 yuan while Line 4 costs 2 yuan.
The first China-made train for the Shenzhen Metro system arrived Saturday night after a journey of 13 days from Northeast China's Changchun City.
The train, made by a Changchun joint venture between Canada-based Bombardier Transportation and China's Changchun Car Company, was taken to the Zhuzilin subway station.
The train has six carriages and is predominantly white. Computer technologies have been adopted for its communication and control systems, allowing it to be remote-driven.
The train incorporated Bombardier's latest technologies such as the modular aluminum body, state-of-the-art automation system and cutting-edge technologies to reduce noise and fire risks, earlier reports said.
The joint venture will build 21 of the 22 trains for the Shenzhen Metro. Eight of the trains will be delivered this year and the rest will be delivered before December 2005.
The first train for Shenzhen's subway system was made in Hennigsdorf, Germany. It arrived in Shenzhen in April.
