After almost six years in Shekou, James E. Boutelle seems satisfied with his career and life here.
He is now busy with an expansion project for his company, TDI Transistor Devices.
James' company chose Shekou as its production base in 1998 and embarked on the production of portable power supply systems for radio transmitters and other solutions which are widely used in the telecommunications and Internet industry.
James said it was Shekou's excellent investment environment that attracted his company to invest here. Benefits included lower production costs, good transport facilities and a ready workforce. The company has gained ground in the vast and expanding Chinese market while also supplying overseas markets.
Although busy most of the week, James still finds time for exercise at weekends such as running with his friends at Xili Lake and Daya Bay and taking tours of the city. He is conscious of the expansion of garden areas through the city but suggest the city traffic could be improved by separating cars and bicycles.
