KP-YJ Expressway Opened to Traffic

| The Kaiping-Yangjiang Expressway opens to traffic today (September 3rd), after being checked and accepted by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Transportation on August 30th and 31st.
This Kaiping-Yangjiang Expressway starts from Zhishan County of Heshan City and ends at the forestry center of Yangjiang.
It connects with the built Foshan-Kaiping Expressway and the constructing Yangjiang-Maoming Expressway, goes through 22 counties of five cities such as Kaiping City, Enping City, Yangjiang City and Jiangcheng District.
The expressway has a total length of about 126 kilometers, costing 4.66 billion Yuan (about 563 USD).
Up to now, this is the best expressway project in Guangdong, say officials from the Ministry of Communications of PRC.
The accomplishment of Kaiping-Yangjiang expressway provides experience for the further construction and administration of expressways in Guangdong, said Zhang Yuanyi, director-general of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Transportation.
