According to the Huizhou human resources department, the city needs at least 10,000 additional employees to meet urgent employment needs. According to statistics, about 70% of the cities enterprises are currently understaffed, especially medium and small-size manufacturers.
Figures indicate the employee deficit may be due to the city’s low average salary which is about 200 yuan lower than the Pearl River Delta region. Experts pointed out that, in order to solve the labour shortage problem, enterprises should increase wages, improve public welfare and relax restrictions on rural labour’s access to the city.
