The Guangdong Huizhou digital industrial zone today (Jun 16th) attracted an investment project in tire manufacturing from Bridgestone Corporation. Bridgestone is one of the top 500 enterprises in the world.
The project is worth 300 million USD, and Bridgestone is the sole investor. The factory covers about 480 thousand square meters and will mainly build radial truck tires.
It is expected to start operations in January, 2007. The factory will make 5000 tires per day and over 1.8 million radial truck tires per year by 2009. This project is Bridgestone's 51st tire factory.
