The Guangzhou Traffic Police Department will issue a weekly traffic report beginning this week, releasing its first weekly summary yesterday (Oct. 25). According to the analysis, overall traffic conditions were fine last week from October 16 to 22.
Traffic flow in neighboring roads of the Canton Fair was better than previous sessions. But some roads still have traffic congestion during the rush hour. The weekly report reminds citizens that the temporary traffic control policies are still valid near the roads of Canton Fair's two venues Liuhua Complex and Pazhou Complex from October 25 to 30.
So vehicles that have nothing to do with the Fair should try to avoid these areas. In addition, Guangzhou traffic police will have temporary traffic control on roads surrounding the Baiyun Mountain and Maofeng Mountain on October 30, the traditional Double Ninth Festival, when people customarily climb mountains.
Police are recommending citizens to use public transportation to avoid delay.
