Foshan 1st Ring Expressway will be open to Traffic in the middle of November. It is the largest area of the infrastructure construction program in Foshan, according to Guangzhou Daily.

North to Guangzhou Baiyun Airport and south to Guangzhou New Train Station and Nansha Harbor, the expressway is the quickest gateway for entering Guangzhou from the western and southern parts of the PRD region. Together with its northern and southern extending lines, its east line has a length of 60 kilometers and parallels the Guangzhou West Ring Expressway. The expressway links Foshan's 5 county-level districts with Guangzhou, facilitating transportation in the Guangzhou-Foshan Metropolitan Region.

Foshan is a prefecture-level city in central Guangdong Province. Guangzhou and Foshan, with downtown areas that are separated by only 15-kilometers, are geographically the closest cities in China.
