The world's third largest synthetic rubber project, Elastomix Rubber (Foshan) Company Limited, was recently finalized in Sanshui as the first wholly Japanese-funded company in the area.
The project situated in the Sanshui Scientific and Industrial Park covers a land area of 50 Mus and attracts a phase-one capital input of 7 million USD. It will be devoted to producing synthetic rubber and selling self-produced products with an expected annual production capacity of 14,600 tons.
The project is reportedly funded exclusively by Japan's Elastomix Company Limited, a subsidiary 98.5% owned by JSR, which is Japan's No.1 and the world's No.3 synthetic rubber producer.
The project to be constructed in July this year and to become productive in April 2006 mainly engages in the development, design and production of synthetic rubber products such as butyl rubber and butadiene processed neoprene as well as after-sale service. Its products will be used primarily for auto components. Its annual production of 14,600 tons is expected to generate an annual turnover of 250 million RMB.
