In a bid to encourage youngsters in the area to study harder, Hengli township government in Dongguan, Guangdong Province, has decided to award as much as 500,000 yuan (US$62,500) to local students enrolled by Tsinghua and Peking universities. Information Times reported.
This is the largest award offered so far to students from Guangdong Province enrolled by the two prestigious universities .
Students enrolled by Fudan, Renmin, Nankai, Zhejiang, Zhongshan and other famous Chinese universities will receive awards ranging from 50,000 yuan (US$6,250) to 100,000 yuan (US$12,500).
