Land Planning

Nansha is geographically divided into three levels: i.e. planning area, planning and controlling area and key developing area in the near future; planning area (the area in the South of Shanwan waterway) covers an area of 797 square kilometers, of which 575 square kilometers is land area; planning controlled area covers an area of 536 square kilometers, of which 330 square kilometers is land area. Key developing area in the near future covers an area of 319 square kilometers, of which 212 square kilometers is land area.

Planning and Layout for Industrial development

The objective of the plan is to fully exploit the advantage of the geographic location, natural conditions, coastal water transportation resource to form a modern harbor-related industrial base.

Under the guidance of development strategy for industry, attention goes to the development of industry, logistics and transportation with an objective of building this area into a modern harbor-related industry base for petrochemical, steel and machinery equipment, and constituting an ecology-oriented environment carefully integrated harbor development with harbor-related industries from the aspect of land use, size, intensiveness and their accessories.

Meanwhile, IT industry, especially high-tech industry and information services will be carried out here to promote economic cooperation between Guangdong and Hong Kong. With the establishment of the industry base of science and technology, high-tech and IT research and production center, education and training center will come into existence in the Pearl River Delta. 

Distribution of Industries

Adhering to a win-win concept of "Bringing environment under protection while basing the area upon industry" and the principle of vigorously developing industry, logistics and transportation, The area is divided into four group of industries naturally separated by its existing ecologic corridors:

1. The Group of Nansha Industrial Park of Science and Technology
2. The Group of Harbor-related Industrial Bases at wanqingsha
3. The Group of Logistics Center at Longxue Island
4. The Group of Local Comprehensive Service Center
