General Informtion:

Established in May 1993, Huizhou Daya Bay Economic and Technological Zone lies in the south of Huizhou, Guangdong and faces the South Sea. It has four outstanding advantages as follows:

a. Excellent Geographical Conditions

It is situated in Pearl River Delta Economic Zone with rapid economic development and adjacent to Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

b. Convenient Traffic

The highway net in the zone has basically been completed and can meet the demands of development. Huizhou-Autou High-grade highway, linking the zone with the outside world, can connect with Shenzhen-Shantou Expressway, Huizhou-Yantian Expressway, Guangzhou-Shantou Expressway and Guangzhou-Huizhou Expressway (under construction). And it takes you less than an hour's drive to reach Huizhou Airport and Shenzhen Huangtian Airport. Huizhou Port in the zone is the national Grade -I State- level port open to foreign vessels with a handling capacity of 16 million tons. If it is comprehensively developed, its handling capacity can reach over 100 million tons. When Huizhou- Aotou Railway is put into use in 2003, Huizhou Port will become the most convenient estuary at the southern end of Beijing- Kowloon Railway.

c. Rich Resources

It is an ideal place to develop modern industries by the sea and tourist industry for its flat terrain, unique tourist resources and rich fresh water resources.

d. Industry Advantages

Many large-scale industries have settled down in the zone.Besides the CNOOC and Shell Complex with the first-phase investment of USD 4.05 billion, there are a LNG power plant with a investment of RMB10 billion and power capacity of 2 million KW (RMB 5 billion and 1 million KW for the first phase) and Dongfeng Automobile Huizhou Base covering an area of 4 square kilometers.
