General Administration of Quality Supervision of China has warned that the brandies made by German liquor producer Schladerer entering Chinese market contain more methanol than the national health regulations permit.
General Administration of Inspection and Quarantine of Guangdong Province yesterday (July 12) said that with exception of Shenzhen and Zhuha, cities in Guangdong have not been importing German brandy since last year.
The Administration added that most imported brandies in Guangdong are from France. However, General Administration of Inspection and Quarantine of Guangdong Province has urged its various branches to strengthen the monitoring of foreign liquor entering the market.
