Tricon Global Restaurants Inc. starts to offer Wanglaoji herbal tea in about 200 KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) chain restaurants in Guangdong Province from July.
The move is a step in KFC's localization strategy, and South China will be a trial market for the new KFC beverage. According to their agreement, Wanglaoji Pharmaceutical Company will be the only herbal tea supplier of KFC in China.
Heabal tea is a kind of drink made by Chinese herbs and is capable of dispelling inner heat. Guangdong people have formed the habit of drinking this kind of tea in order to keep health.
Currently, KFC is promoting this tea in Guangzhou and Shenzhen market, and then will gradually turn it as a long-term product.
