Guangzhou Fair 2006 attracted over 135,000 visitors yesterday (Sept. 3), a new high since its opening on September 1. One of the new highlights at the fair is the animation and cartoon exhibition.

The 3D high-tech animation video allows readers to experience the newest way to appreciate comic books. Cosplay performances and animated cartoons on the big screen also attracted large audiences. Organizers said that the Guangzhou Fair will include an animation and cartoon section at every upcoming session of the fair.

In the 11th five-year plan, Guangzhou put forward that Guangzhou's animation and cartoon industry will grow at 45 percent per year and the industrial value will reach 7 billion yuan in 2010. In addition, Guangzhou Government plans to invest about 150 million yuan per year in the next five years to support the animation and cartoon industry.
