Organized by Guangdong Policy Research Department, the forum on coordinated growth between Hongkong and other cities in Pearl River Delta (PRD) was held in Guangzhou on July 29th.
Officials and experts from Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Dongguan and Hongkong took part in the forum..
According to one of the organizer, the forum mainly focuses on two aspects: 1) the new identities the cities should have after the signing of CEPA and, 2) what coordinating measures should be carried out for the region.
Officials and experts attending the forum agreed to strengthen the grand PRD by bringing Hongkong and Macao into it. They also agreed on the building of a multi-channel, multi-level coordinating mechanism between the cities. Besides cooperation, they also take competition as the drive for the region's development.
